Ross Library Garden Makeover Project

You may have noticed that down the side of Ross Library there is an area that in the past has been a useful outside space. The influx of pigeons has led to it falling into disuse. However, the Friends of Ross Library are pleased to announce the 2026 Ross Library Garden Makeover.

Working together with the Library staff and Buildings Services at Herefordshire CC we want to create a beautiful and engaging space for the entire community.

Plans have been drawn up to include a large, retractable awning, which will provide space for Special Events, a quiet outdoor space to read a book or work on a tablet in the summer, and a stimulating sensory place for storytelling.

In addition, there will be sensory and bee friendly flower beds and troughs plus water saving butts.

We are applying for grants and with a generous gift from our reserves on behalf of our Members, hope to have the Garden renewed so that it can be used over the summer.

Plans will be available to view at the AGM 23rd June at 6:30pm at the Library.
